![]() ![]() Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends. ![]() I'll blog about my life and crap like that in a day or two, since there's some interesting stuff going on there as well. Would you stand up and walk out on me Lend me your ears and Ill sing you a song. So there you go, I updated, and with my first new song in almost a year. 'Everybody, it's time to go, stand on getting ready for the show, and if you're thinking that you may or you might, then. The Telecaster is just begging to have a song written on it, so I think this is the one. I'll hopefully finish this one before December, since I just got a bunch of new music stuff for my birthday, and it's been really inspirational. Then even longer after that, I'll name it and record it. Then in a few hours/days/years I'll write some chords and sing it loudly and out of tune for anyone who wants to listen. That's how I work, I pick a good phrase or two, settle on a rhyme structure, and go into a trance. The rest of the song I just made up in a trance. There was more to the song, but I'm not in the same place I was when I wrote it, and I'll never be able to go back there to finish it, so I took the best part and put it in this song. The first verse came from a song I wrote about Christie forever ago, way back when I first fell for her. What would you think if I sang out of tune, Would you stand up and walk out on me Lend me your ears and Ill sing you a song. The moon's been chillin', we've been moving." That was one of the funniest moments ever, and I wanted to incorporate it into a song as well, so I made it a little bridge/breakdown in this song. I was watching the moon from the window and remarked about how it was moving around, and she was nice enough to correct me with "nah, babe. The little line about the moon is from Amy DB during our limo ride home from Broadway last year. That line really made me want to write a song. When Amy Z told me that her cheeks felt funny, and she suspected it was because she was smiling a lot, it just made me feel really warm and fuzzy, even though I was on my back in wet grass looking at the stars. Lend me your ear and Ill sing you a song. The song is pretty much about starting a new year of school with all new people, and making great friends, and feeling connected in a way you never though possible.
